Katumba Badru
Katumba Badru Sultan is multi-award winning freelance photojournalist based in Uganda. His pleasure is in capturing telling images and sharing the same. He is a Foundry and VII photos, Academy  Fellow
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication from Makerere University where he was honored as the best Photojournalism student of the year 2016. He is also a certified sports photographer from FISU academy in Taipei city of Taiwan
He was nominated as the Photojournalist by African Centre for Media Excellence Awards 2017, Nominee Austria Alfred Fried Photography Awards 2017 and winner UPPA 2017 both sports and News categories with a three years’ experience in on spot News, and Documentary reporting. 
In 2018, he was second in the East Africa Photo Press Awards. And in 2019 he emerged the  overall winner of Uganda Press Photo Award. His work has been published widely in the Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, New York Times,The Star, London standards, etc. He is currently freelancing at New vision one of Uganda’s leading daily and  Agency France Presse (AFP), Journafrica in Germany and London Evening Standards in the UK
